OTF (short for Out-The-Front) means the blade deploys and retracts straight out of the front of the handle with the push of a switch. Unlike folding knives, which swing open on a pivot, OTFs use a spring-loaded, double-action mechanism that makes them quick to deploy and easy to stow.
